The Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, located centrally in Port Hawkesbury, offers several room options for you to choose from for your wedding day.  The Bear Head Conference Room is fully air conditioned, and offers seating for up to 325. A dance floor for reception fun, and an in -house sound system will help to make your wedding a day to remember.

What does my room rental fee include?
Your rental of the Bear Head Conference Room includes tables (round or rentangular) table linens, security staff, white or black skirting, podium and mic, setup, clean up and parking. 

What are the setup options for the room?
The Bear Head Conference Room can be divided with a movable wall into an area to hold your ceremony, and reception, or the full room can be used for your reception only.

Who can do my catering?
The Civic Centre has a listing of caterers in the area who have safe food handling certification. If there is another caterer that you wish to use, who is not on this list,  please discuss with staff, 902-625-2591.

Do you offer bar services?
A complete bar service is available, and your individual requests can be reviewed upon booking. Two bar tenders are included in your room reservation. Additional bar staff, if requested or required due to numbers are charged at $15.00 per hour. All liquor for events, must be coordinated by the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, including wine. A listing of product options are available for your selection.  An extention to the liscense may be requested if you wish to go later than 1:00 a.m.

What is the rental rate for the full Bear Head Conference Centre?
$600.00 plus hst. This is for a full day rental, with last  call at 12:30 a.m.  Also, if there is not a booking in the room the day prior, we will make every effort to have the room ready so that you can start your decorating. If you wish to have the room reset for your ceremony, a fee to cover labour costs will be charged.

Is there a charge to use the kitchen for catering purposes.
There is a charge of $2.00 per plate per person, which is charged to the caterer. This provides all linens, dishes, stemware,  cutlery and full access to the kitchen. When you are booking your caterer from our list, they are aware of this fee, and in most cases have added it to the price that they have quoted to you. You may, however,  wish to confirm this with the caterer during your discussions.

Do you have contacts for local wedding providers?
We are pleased to provide you with contact options for decorators, photographers, cake providers, accommodations, and music that will help you plan your day.
