COVID Protocol While Attending a Performance
Purchasing tickets
Tickets can be purchased in person or by phone only. You will be assigned seats according to the number of tickets desired / the size of your “bubble” (places will be very limited so first come, first served). For the time being, online purchases are not available for physically distanced performances.
The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:00 p.m.. Call 902-625-2591 or visit us at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Box office.
At the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre
It will be mandatory for all staff, and patrons to wear a face covering while in the Civic Centre(lobby, bar, washrooms). Disposable masks will be made available to patrons who do not bring their own. Once all patrons are safely seated, they may remove their masks if they wish.
Patrons will enter through the left-hand door of the front lobby of the Civic Centre and exit through the left-hand door.
Screening and sanitizing
Patrons will be asked to read a series of screening questions and use hand sanitizer upon arrival. Those unable to attend the event as a result of answering the screening questions will be referred to the Box Office for a refund.
Bar service and merchandise
Bar service and merchandise sales open one hour before showtime, and at intermission. COVID protocol will be followed. Debit or credit card purchases are encouraged. Floor markings will indicate safe distancing while in queues. As always, patrons are welcome to enjoy their beverage inside the hall, once it is safe to remove their mask.
Going to your seat
Patrons will be greeted and shown to their seats. Patrons must remain in their assigned seats while in the hall. Floor markings and signage will assist with physical distancing in the lobby, stairways and corridors.
Washrooms
To promote physical distancing, washroom capacity is limited to three, and floor markings will indicate safe distancing while in queues.
Cleaning and disinfection
All high-touch surfaces including door handles, railings, counter surfaces, washroom fixtures and light switches will be cleaned and disinfected prior to, during, and after all events.
The main hall seating will be disinfected following each performance.
Contact tracing records
Only upon request from public health officials - the names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers provided to the Civic Centre account used to purchase tickets will be securely shared with the NS Heath Authority for the purposes of facilitating contact tracing.
Our staff and volunteers
Our team follows a comprehensive COVID-19 Operational Plan that provides protocols and procedures to keep staff, artists and visitors safe and to reduce the risk of virus spread. Our plan is informed by the latest advice and guidance of public health officials and includes the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), health checks, physical distancing, and cleaning and disinfection.
