Recreation Update-Jan 14, 2022

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS:
The Town of Port Hawkesbury will relax some of the current COVID 19 restrictions to coincide with the opening of schools for in person learning on January 17, 2022. This additional programing will be offered in compliance with the Nova Scotia COVID-19 Restrictions including gathering limits, proof of vaccination and social distancing requirements. Further consideration for access to additional facilities and programs will be announced in conjunction with the Provincial change in guidelines planned for January 31,2022.
Beginning January 17, 2022 the walking track at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre will reopen. Walking track hours are Monday to Friday 6am-4:30pm only. Users must sign in and sign out with custodial staff between 6am and 8:30am. Between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm, users must sign in and sign out at the box office.
The Strait Area Pool will open for limited programming and public swims on January 18, 2022.
Pre-registration is required for all swims. To register please call the pool at 902-625-2594 beginning Monday, January 17th between 10am and 3pm.
Maximum participants for public swims is 25 including spectators.
Maximum participants for lane swims and water exercise class is 10.
Full program schedule for the Strait Area Pool will be available Friday, January 14th via Facebook.
Proof of vaccination is required for all of the above.
